http://tntnewsroom.com/the-great-escape-recap-with-spoilers-4/CLOSEThree teams are blindfolded and transported in military-grade hummers to a top-secret missile silo in the Arizona desert. The teams have their blindfolds removed to see the massive Titan Missile Silo. They must race to the finish to win $100,000. After host Rich Eisen explains the rules, the teams are led to the detainment zone, and the escape is on.
In the detainment zone, each team must escape their handcuffs, make it out of their cells and find the escape map. The first team to escape detainment and head to Stage 1 is the Red Team, athletic friends Whitney and Sarah. The Green and Blue Teams follow closely.
In Stage 1, the chemical cleaning dock, teams must reach inside chemical boxes and instruct each other on how to remove the contents. The Red Team quickly gets its first escape key and tools. The other teams soon follow suit.
The path to Stage 2 is a test of brute strength and speed. The competitors must locate hoisting gear and lift themselves up five stories. It is a difficult task, but each team makes it through with flying colors.
The Red and Blue Teams arrive at Stage 2 within seconds of each other. In this stage, each team must put on haz-mat suits and search through waste barrels until they find a metal container that holds the next piece of the key. The Blue Team, longtime friends Troy and Harry, take the lead and move on to Stage 3. Green Team members Angela and Rob, an engaged couple, follow closely as they move cautiously around the encryption room to avoid guards. Meanwhile the Red Team still can’t figure out how to open their canister. By the time the Red Team catches up with everyone else, they completely forget about the guards and are quickly caught and sent back to detainment.
At Stage 3, teams must use an encryption guide to decode a clue found at Stage 2. The Blue Team and Green Team find their code and finish Stage 3 almost simultaneously. The Red Team has serious trouble with the encryption key, losing valuable time while trying to guess the code.
At Stage 4, the Blue Team gathers a considerable lead over the Green Team. Angela and Rob of the Green Team have every piece of the Great Escape key, but they are confused as to how to put it together. It looks like the boys in blue are off to an easy victory…until they lose their map and get caught by a guard.
The Blue Team escapes detainment and searches for their map. In the meantime, the Red Team finally makes it to Stage 4. To the dismay of the other two teams, the Green Team is already in the transport zone. But it isn’t over yet.
The Red Team, in a tear to catch up, is captured again and all but guaranteed a loss. Troy and Harry of the Blue Team are not out of the race yet. They take some serious risks in the transport zone to catch up the Green Team. A footrace ensues to the finish and host Rich Eisen.
In the most nerve-racking ending yet, the Green Team wins The Great Escape and $100,000 by an incredibly slim margin.
