Emmy® and Screen Actors Guild Award® winner Eric McCormack stars as Dr. Daniel Pierce, who possesses an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. Although Pierce’s mind may be brilliant, it’s also damaged as he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia. Rachael Leigh Cook co-stars as FBI agent Kate Moretti, Pierce’s former student who has recruited Pierce to consult on cases. Also starring are Arjay Smith, Kelly Rowan and LeVar Burton. In addition, season two will feature special guest star Scott Wolf (Party of Five, V, Everwood) as Donnie, Kate’s soon-to-be ex-husband. Perception was created by executive producer Ken Biller and co-executive producer Mike Sussman, with McCormack serving as producer. The series comes to TNT from ABC Studios.

TNT’s new unscripted procedural drama follows two top-notch female investigators as they dig into small town murder cases that have lingered for years without answers or closure. Kelly Siegler, a Texas prosecutor for 21 years who has successfully tried 68 murder cases, and Yolanda McClary, a crime scene investigator who worked more than 7,000 cases in her 26 years in the Las Vegas Police Department, are putting their vast knowledge and experience to work helping local law-enforcement officers and families of violent-crime victims get to the truth. With a fresh set of eyes on old evidence, superior interrogation skills and access to advanced DNA technology and lab testing, Siegler and McClary are determined to bring about a legal and emotional resolution. Taking on a different unsolved crime each week, they will carefully re-examine evidence, question suspects and witnesses, and chase down leads in order to solve cases that would have otherwise remained cold indefinitely. TNT has ordered eight episodes of Cold Justice, which comes to the network from Wolf Films and Magical Elves. Amaury Nolasco is set to be a guest star this summer during the fourth season of TNT‘s hit drama series Rizzoli & Isles, starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. Nolasco is best known for his role on hit television series Prison Break, as well as his performance in the box-office hit Transformers.

In Rizzoli & Isles, Nolasco will play Lt. Det. Rafael Martinez, newly appointed head of the Boston PD drug unit. The arrival of Martinez, who has a conflicted professional and personal past with Jane (Harmon), forces her to relive a painful experience from her past.

Over the span of three seasons, Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander have proven that two heads are better than one in the Top 5 drama series Rizzoli & Isles. As Boston detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles, the pair share a quirky chemistry and impeccable track record as they put away some of Boston’s most notorious criminals. TNT’s newest hits – Major Crimes, Dallas and Perception – burst onto the scene as basic cable’s Top 3 new series of 2012. This marks the third consecutive year TNT has claimed basic cable’s #1 new series, following top rankings by Rizzoli & Isles in 2010 and Falling Skies in 2011.

TNT claims four of basic cable’s Top 20 original series among adults 25-54 – Falling Skies (3 million), The Closer (2.8 million), Rizzoli & Isles (2.7 million) and Dallas (2.6 million) – giving the network more than any other basic cable programmer.

TNT has grown its total audience for scripted originals by +5% compared to the network’s 2011 average.

Earlier this year, TNT’s record-smashing series The Closer bid farewell with 11.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched series finale in basic cable history.

TNT’s original dramas continue to benefit from strong time-shifted viewing gains, a strong indication that millions of viewers are making a concerted effort to catch every episode of their favorites. The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles surpassed 3 million time-shifting viewers in 2012, while Major Crimes, Perception, Dallas and Falling Skies each exceeded 2 million.

TNT is closing out the year on a high note, with exceptional Q4 2012 growth in primetime among total viewers (+7%), adults 18-49 (+11%) and adults 25-54 (+8%) when compared to Q4 2011.

Looking ahead to 2012, TNT is ramping up its strategy to feature original programming year-round starting Monday, Jan. 28, with the second season of Dallas. The following week, TNT premieres the new medical drama Monday Mornings, starring Ving Rhames, Albert Molina, Jamie Bamber and Jennifer Finnigan. The series is executive-produced by David E. Kelley, Bill D’Elia and neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

When it comes to individual telecasts, TNT’s lineup of original series currently account for all of basic cable’s Top 15 scripted series telecasts this summer, with the series finale of The Closer coming in at #1. Also within the Top 15 are several episodes of Rizzoli & Isles and the series debuts of Dallas (8.3 million viewers Live + 7 – June 13) and Perception (7.5 million viewers Live + 7 – July 9).

TNT Series Expand Significantly through Time-Shifted Viewing
Time-shifted viewing data indicates millions of viewers are making a concerted effort to catch every episode of their favorite TNT dramas.  Each TNT drama has added at least 1.8 million viewers through time-shifted viewing, with Falling Skies, Perception and Dallas exceeding 2 million time-shifting viewers and The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles exceeding 3 million. In addition, The Closer‘s series finale has already grown to 10.7 million viewers in Live + 3, the biggest delivery ever for a TNT original series.
