The opening episode of TNT’s eagerly anticipated three-week television event MOB CITY – from writer-director-executive producer Frank Darabont – is about to become the first television screenplay ever to be adapted for and published through Twitter. The ground-breaking “adaptweetion” is slated to begin rolling out on Twitter through the handle @MobCityTNT today, Monday, Dec. 2, two days before the launch of MOB CITY on TNT.

TNT to Open Pop-Up Haberdashery in New York in Conjunction with Launch of “Mob City”

As part of the building excitement for TNT’s gripping three-week television event MOB CITY, the network is working with Deutsch NY to open a pop-up haberdashery in New York’s Chelsea Market (75 9th Ave., between 15th and 16th Streets). Mickey’s Haberdashery, named for key MOB CITY figure Mickey Cohen, will be open for a limited time from Dec. 2-4, giving holiday shoppers the chance to immerse themselves in the MOB CITY atmosphere and find some great holiday gifts. Ignacio Quiles, co-owner of QP & Monty and stylist behind Sartorial Pairings, is curating the items to be sold at Mickey’s Haberdashery.

Ed Burns to Co-Host Four Classic Gangster Films on TCM as Prelude to TNT’s “Mob City” Launch

TNT sister network Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will herald the launch of TNT’s eagerly anticipated television event MOB CITY with a quartet of classic gangster films on Tuesday, Dec. 3, the night before TNT’s three-week television event gets under way. Ed Burns, who plays notorious gangster Ben “Bugsy” Siegel in Mob City, will join TCM host Robert Osborne to introduce four classic thrillers: WHITE HEAT (1949), THE ROARING TWENTIES (1939), THE BIG HEAT (1953) and KEY LARGO (1948). The two men will also talk about Burns’ role in MOB CITY and the influence of classic gangster films on TNT’s high-profile production.

TNT and TBS invade NY Comic Con with four panels

Top-rated cable networks TBS and TNT are preparing to invade New York Comic Con with four exciting panels for the Oct. 10-13 event. TNT will present panels for its epic sci-fi series FALLING SKIES, which returns for its fourth season in summer 2014, and eagerly anticipated noir drama MOB CITY, which premieres Dec. 4. And TBS will stage panels for the hit competition show KING OF THE NERDS, which returns for its second season Jan. 23, and the upcoming late-night series THE PETE HOLMES SHOW, which premieres Oct. 28. In addition, TBS is sponsoring a special live edition of the popular “If I Were You” podcast, guest-starring Pete Holmes.
