Martin Scorsese is widely regarded as one of the greatest directors of all time having received the AFI Life Achievement Award for his contributions to cinema, two AFI Awards, an Academy^® Award, a Palme d’Or, Grammy^® Award, two Emmys^®, four Golden Globes^®, a BAFTA and three DGA Awards.  Scorsese’s body of work includes films such as THE DEPARTED, GANGS OF NEW YORK, GOODFELLAS, HUGO, MEAN STREETS, RAGING BULL, TAXI DRIVER and the upcoming WOLF OF WALL STREET, which will be released in Fall 2013.

In addition to airing the AFI Life Achievement Award special, TCM’s July 14 celebration of Mel Brooks will include two of his classic films: the rarely shown THE TWELVE CHAIRS (1970), making its TCM debut, and THE PRODUCERS (1968), the wild comedy that earned Brooks an Oscar^® for Best Original Screenplay.  Also included with TCM’s presentation will be classic interviews with Brooks by television legends Johnny Carson and Dick Cavett.

TBS and TNT are about to become the first national entertainment networks in the industry to stream on-air content live across multiple platforms 24/7, including through the networks’ websites and a pair of newly created Watch TNT and Watch TBS apps. The announcement was made during TNT and TBS’s annual Upfront presentation today in New York. Live streaming is the latest phase in the rollout of TV Everywhere, the industry-wide initiative that gives subscribers to cable, satellite and telco video services access to more of their favorite shows across a wide range of digital platforms.

“Starting this summer, subscribers will be able to watch TBS and TNT live – anytime, anywhere, on multiple devices,” Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks, told the Upfront audience. “Tablets and smartphones become television sets, bringing new opportunities for us and for advertisers.”

TNT and TBS will begin their live streaming just as both networks are in the midst of the their summer programming, which for TNT includes returning series Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, Major Crimes, Perception, Franklin & Bash and newcomers King & Maxwell, The Hero, 72 Hours and Cold Justice. TBS’s summer lineup includes the second season of the hit sitcom Sullivan & Son and the new series Deon Cole’s Black Box, and Deal With It. Also available through live streaming will be TNT’s award-winning coverage of the NBA, including the regular season, playoffs and All-Star Weekend; TBS’s regular-season and playoff coverage of Major League Baseball; and both network’s coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.

The TNT and TBS live streams will be available through http://www.tntdrama.com and http://www.tbs.com, as well as through the networks’ newly created iPhone/iPad apps, with additional platforms added by the end of the year. The free Watch TNT and Watch TBS apps will be made available just prior to the live-streaming launch. To watch the live streams, viewers will be required to log in using their cable/satellite-provider account information.

Koonin highlighted some of TBS and TNT’s successes in the multiscreen world, like inviting fans to re-create an entire episode of TBS’s CONAN through crowd-sourcing and fostering the creation of “Rizzles,” an online community of Rizzoli & Isles devotees who create fan fiction centering on their favorite TNT drama. Using a new, multi-dimensional research tool called ATHENA (Advanced Tool for Harnessing and Evaluating Network Audiences), TBS and TNT have begun to measure viewer engagement with the networks through social media and other digital platforms.

Koonin closed his remarks with the announcement that this summer, TBS and TNT will become the industry’s first national entertainment networks to offer live streaming of their on-air lineups 24/7.

Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), rolled out TNT and TBS’s programming strategy and original series lineups for 2013-14. “This is a time of great changes in our business – new technologies, new distribution platforms, new creative voices,” Wright said. “But with all that exciting change, one thing remains constant: Great stories are the centerpiece of our business. TNT has nine original series on tap this summer, including the return of such hit series as Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, Major Crimes, Perception and Franklin & Bash. TNT will also launch the new crime drama King & Maxwell, starring Jon Tenney and Rebecca Romijn, and three new unscripted series, The Hero, a competition series headlined by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; 72 Hours, a race-against-the-clock competition hosted by Brandon Johnson; and Cold Justice, an unscripted procedural from Law & Order producer Dick Wolf.

Coming later in the year to TNT are the new series Lost Angels, an eagerly anticipated scripted drama from Frank Darabont; S.O.B. (Save Our Business), an unscripted makeover series featuring entrepreneur Peter Jones; and Marshal Law: Texas, an unscripted procedural from Jerry Bruckheimer. In 2014, TNT will launch two new scripted dramas: The Last Ship, starring Eric Dane and executive-produced by Michael Bay, and Legends, starring Sean Bean and executive-produced by Homeland‘s Howard Gordon. TNT will also roll out the unscripted series Life Flight, an in-depth look at heroic air-ambulance teams; Nashville Confidential, a docudrama set in the country music capital; and Inside Job, which puts executive job candidates through a unique screening process.

In addition, TNT has two pilots currently under consideration: an untitled bounty-hunter drama starring Oscar® winner Geena Davis and executive-produced by Dean Devlin, and Murder in the First, a new crime drama from Steven Bochco starring Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson.

Turning to TBS, Wright talked about the network’s “smart with heart” strategy. “‘Smart with heart’ means we look for projects from funny writers with strong voices who tend to create shows that are inherently optimistic and big hearted, giving them the accessibility of broadcast comedies – and equally importantly – making them a great fit with The Big Bang Theory, one of the most accessible comedies in recent memory,” he said.

TBS’s slate of original programming includes three sitcoms that successfully launched out of The Big Bang Theory: Men at Work, currently in its second season; Sullivan & Son, which returns for its second season in June; and Cougar Town, which returns for its fifth season in 2014. The lineup also includes unscripted and alternative fare like the hit King of the Nerds, which returns for its second season in 2014, as well as the upcoming Deon Cole’s Black Box, starring CONAN writer and actor Deon Cole; Deal With It, a hidden-camera competition series hosted by Theo Von and executive-produced by Howie Mandel; Bam’s Bad Ass Game Show, an over-the-top competition series hosted by Jackass star Bam Margera; and Trust Me, I’m a Game Show Host, a new series from Mark Burnett and featuring D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black as deceitful hosts.

TBS just recently announced series pickups for Ground Floor, a workplace comedy with a romantic twist from Cougar Town executive producer Bill Lawrence, and The CeeLo Life (working title), an unscripted series that will follow Grammy winner CeeLo Green as he works his way through jam-packed days and nights. And this November, TBS will launch a new late-night series hosted by comedian and podcast superstar Pete Holmes and set to air following CONAN.

Portal House

Guilt by Association
Based on the debut novel by Marcia Clark, lead prosecutor in the O.J. She works closely with a tough-as-nails female LAPD detective named Bailey Keller and a stylish female prosecutor named Toni LaCollette, both of whom routinely crash at Rachel’s place.

Lew Archer
Based on the title character from Ross McDonald’s popular novels, this project from The Closer creator James Duff and Close to Home creator Jim Leonard follows the sleuth many consider to be “the original P.I.”

Crushed

They make a unique bet to determine who has the best seductive powers.

This show will take viewers into the hilarious subculture through the eyes of a group of proud Wisconsinites as they navigate life in the only way they know how – loud, proud and with lots of beer. TNT’s hit legal series Franklin & Bash is back in session for a third season with the same fun banter, unique legal battles and a brand new boss to try and keep the legal wonder boys in line. Starring Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Franklin & Bash averaged 4.3 million viewers in its sophomore campaign, up 10% over its first season. The buddy drama also averaged 1.8 million adults 18-49 and 2.0 million adults 25-54. Heather Locklear joins the cast this season as Rachel King the new partner in the firm with her sights set on reigning in LA’s go-to legal team. The new season will air Wednesdays at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), kicking off with back-to-back episodes June 19.

 Franklin & Bash stars Breckin Meyer as Jared Franklin and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Peter Bash, two young, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants street lawyers who caused a seismic culture clash when they joined a legendary, button-down law firm.  Jared loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets. Peter, meanwhile, has a knack for connecting with judge and jury any way he can. Malcolm McDowell plays Renaissance man Stanton Infeld, the brilliant and eccentrically spontaneous patriarch of the law firm. Also starring are Reed Diamond, Dana Davis, and Kumail Nanjiani.

 This season takes an exciting turn.  Besides dealing with a new boss, Jared and Peter adjust to new surroundings as they move into a beach house in Malibu.  The cases the guys will tackle include a world famous magician, defending a dead man who is in fact alive, a heckling baseball fan and the owner of a space meteor.  Season three will also feature an impressive list of guest stars including Piers Morgan, Martin Starr, Tom Lennon, Jay Chandrasekhar, Jane Seymour, Adam Goldberg and a few surprises.

Each week on Inside Job, one of America’s hottest companies will invite four highly qualified job candidates to compete for a six-figure executive position. For one week, they’ll live together, work together and play together as part of the interview and hiring process.

TNT has ordered a second season of the powerful docudrama Boston’s Finest, which recently completed its first season. The unscripted series offers viewers an up-close and very personal look at the men and women of the Boston Police Department and what it takes to protect one of America’s greatest and most distinctive cities. TNT has ordered six episodes for the second season of Boston’s Finest, which is set to return in early 2014. As part of the TNT renewal, sister network CNN plans to encore the series.

Boston’s Finest is executive-produced by Donnie Wahlberg (Blue Bloods) and Seth Jarrett and Julie Insogna-Jarrett (Celebrity Ghost Stories) and comes to TNT from Jarrett and Insogna-Jarrett’s Jarrett Creative Group and Wahlberg’s Donnie D. Productions. In its first season, the show averaged 1.3 million viewers in Live + 7 delivery.

Unlike many unscripted series about law enforcement, Boston’s Finest follows the fearless actions of the entire Boston Police Department, including patrol officers, detectives, special task forces and members of the SWAT Team, the Fugitive Unit and highly decorated Gang Unit. In addition to following the officers while they are on duty, Boston’s Finest provides a glimpse into their personal lives when they are off the clock and living in the same neighborhoods they protect each day.

During the first season of Boston’s Finest, viewers got to know officers like Jenn Penton, who joined the force after a military stint in Afghanistan and whose twin sister has been battling addiction; Diamantino “D” Araujo and Manny Canuto, who grew up together as best friends in Roxbury and now partner together on the gang squad; and Officers Greg and Nancy Dankers, who work opposite shifts, making home life a challenge for the couple and their twin sons.

Boston’s Finest not only celebrates the bravery of officers who risk their lives every day, but also showcases the heart and soul of one of the oldest and proudest police departments in the nation.
